5 Possible Reasons Why Your TikTok Won’t Record

If you’re trying to record a video on TikTok and it’s not working, you may be wondering why. There are a few possible reasons for this. In this blog post, we’ll explore 5 possible reasons why your TikTok won’t record.

Check your internet connection

If you’re having trouble recording on TikTok, there are a few things you can check to see if your internet connection is the problem. First, make sure that your phone and TikTok are both connected to the same Wi-Fi network. If you’re using a cellular connection, make sure that your phone is connected to a strong signal. If all of those things are good and you’re still having trouble recording, it might be because your phone is low on battery. Try charging your phone overnight or using a power bank if you’re near an outlet. If none of those things work, it might be because your phone is incompatible with TikTok. Make sure that your phone is up to date and that you’re using the latest version of the app. If you still can’t record, it might be because there’s something blocking the camera on your phone. To fix this, try unplugging your phone for a few minutes and then plugging it back in.

Make sure the app is up to date

If your TikTok isn’t recording, there are a few things you can do to check and see if the app is up to date:

  1. Open the App Store on your device. If it’s already open, tap on the store icon in the lower-left corner of the screen.

  2. Under “Applications,” find “TikTok” and tap on it. If there are updates available, they’ll be listed under “Update Now.” Tap on one of the updates to download and install it.

  3. If you’re using an iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > General > Software Update. On Android devices, go to Settings -> Google Play Services -> Update My Apps.

  4. Make sure that your internet connection is good enough for streaming video. The more bandwidth you have, the better quality videos TikTok will be able to stream and record in HD quality.

  5. Check if your microphone is working properly by talking into it – if nothing comes out of your mic except noise, then your microphone may not be working correctly and needs to be replaced or repaired.

Allow TikTok access to your microphone

Your camera and microphone are both essential for recording videos on TikTok. If you’re not sure how to allow TikTok access to your camera, read our previous section: “Allow TikTok access to your camera.” If you need help with microphone permissions, read on.

There are a few different ways to allow TikTok access to your microphone:

  1. Use the built-in voice recorder: On most Android devices, if you open the Settings app and scroll down until you see “Recording & Voicemail” under “Camera,” tap it. There, you’ll see an option called “Microphone.” Tapping that will switch the device into Voice Recorder mode. You can then record video and audio without having to use the main camera. (On iOS devices, go into Camera and select Microphones from the list of options at the bottom.)
  2. Enable voice control in TikTok: If you have an iPhone or iPad running iOS 11 or later, open Settings > General > Accessibility > Speech Recognition & Dictation. Tap the toggle next to “TikTok” so that it turns green (or vice versa). Now when you shoot a video or take a photo with TikOK enabled, your phone will prompt you for permission before doing anything else. This may not be available in all countries/ regions yet but we’ll update this article as more information becomes available.

Check your phone’s storage

If your phone has low storage and you’ve tried many different ways to free up space, it might be because TikTok is refusing to record.

Here are a few things to check:

  • Are there any videos that have been deleted? If so, they may still be on the device but not accessible or retrievable through the app.
  • Are there any pictures or videos in locked folders? Typically these require a password for access, which can reduce available storage space.
  • Have you recently upgraded your phone’s operating system (OS)? This can cause new files to be created, including videos and photos.

Restart the app

If you’re experiencing a problem where your TikTok won’t record, there are a few things you can try. First, check to see if your phone’s storage is full. If it isn’t, you might need to delete some videos in order for TikTok to create new recordings. You can also try restarting the app. If that doesn’t work, be sure to reach out to TikTok customer service for assistance.
